Christen & Singing

Singing to the glory of God, in worship and at home around the table. In many Reformed congregations the psalms are central.

What are the psalms?

The psalms are the 150 songs of the Book of Psalms in the Bible. Many congregations sing them in a metrical version: a rhymed translation that can be sung to a melody. You can find the Dutch texts on psalmboek.nl.

How are they sung?

That differs per congregation. Some sing rhythmically, others in equal notes: slower, with every note the same length. Simply sing along with the congregation you attend.

A medicine cabinet for the Christian

The psalms are like a medicine cabinet. They give you words to express your misery, your deliverance and your gratitude before God. Even when you do not understand what is happening in your life, the psalms give you words to come to God.

Listening

Many psalms can also be heard sung, for example through Nederland Zingt. And if you cannot get enough of Christian music, there is for example Groot Nieuws Radio, and other Christian radio stations, with a wide range or with psalms only.

Blijde Klanken

Radio station for those who prefer to listen mainly to psalms.
